Li-Chun Su
Pianist
Li-Chun Su is a solo pianist and a fortepianist. Ms. Su has played numerous concerts in the Grand Hall and Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic, St Martin in the Fields in London, Philharmonic Hall in Jena, Gewandhaus Mendelssohn Hall in Leipzig, Casa de la Musica in Porto , Konzerthaus Berlin and in Gasteig in Munich. She has played with "Sinfonie Orchester Berlin", "Berliner Symphoniker", Jena Philharmonic Orchestra, Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of University of Arts Berlin, Porto National Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Junge Philharmonie Brandenburg. Li-Chun Su has performed in Germany, U.K., Switzerland and Austria.
Ms. Su is also a highly accomplished fortepianist. She has given several recitals in the Musikinstrumenten Museum Berlin, at the Michael Haydn Musikfestival in Salzburg and Bebersee Festival in Brandenburg. She was honored to play Carl Czerny’s work on Czerny’s own 1834 Boesendorfer which was shipped from Vienna to the International Czerny Congress for her to play for the occasion. She has also been privileged to play the Brodmann’s 1810 piano once owned by Carl Maria von Weber and on an 1838 Conrad Graf. Li-Chun is invited by Musikinstrumenten Museum Berlin to record Mozart, Schubert and Carl Maria von Weber on those original instruments like Stein Fortepiano 1775 and Brodmann 1810. She has played and recorded on Silbermann's Harpsichord and Silbermnn-Fortepiano (reproduced by Neupert-Fortepiano).
Pianist Li-Chun Su studied with Lazlo Simon, Martin Hughes, Mitzi Meyerson, Gabor Paska Malcolm Bilson, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (German Lieder), Alicia de Larrocha and Paul Badura Skoda in Berlin, Weimar, Vienna and Villecroze.
Li-Chun Su won first prizes at Arthur-Schnabel Competition in Berlin, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition in Berlin and Porto International Competition. She took fourth prize at the International Johann-Sebastian-Bach Competition in Leipzig. During the Felix-Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition for Duo Piano and Cello, she won the Federal-President-Scholarship in Berlin. Li-Chun Su was also to be heard and seen on several occasions on Germany broadcasting networks like Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB), Deutschlandradio, and Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR). Li-Chun Su teaches at the University of the Arts Berlin.
