Nanqiao Lyu

Nanqiao Lyu is an American pianist, chamber musician, piano educator, a researcher in music teaching, and Deputy Chief of “Huaxing Art Troupe”, soloist and accompanist at New World Opera, Boston.
Born in China, Ms. Lyu graduated with the highest honors from Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and Moscow State Pedagogical University. Nanqiao Lyu performed solo concerts in the past, with her first solo in Harbin Youth Palace at nine. In August 2000, she played with the Symphony Orchestra of Harbin Pedagogical University at the “Harbin Summer” Festival. In 2004, she played another solo concert at Baisi Music Center in Shenyang. In 2008 she performed with the Voronezh Symphony Orchestra in the Voronezh Philharmonic Hall. In 2012 she performed with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonic” in the Moscow House of Music. From 2014 to 2021, she also held solo concerts in Italy, Russia, and China. She also participated in all performances with the “Huaxing Art Troupe” from 2019.

Nanqiao Lyu is a distinguished competition winner; her excellent techniques and performance are further recognized by international competitions such as the 2015 Open International Competition of Pianists and Piano Ensembles (Moscow, 3rd Prize), 2018 Rachmaninov International Festival Competition (Russia, Grand Prize), 4th International Competition for Young Pianists (Russia, 1st Prize). In 2019, Ms. Lyu was also awarded 1st Prize at the New York Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Ms. Lyu is now a leading piano teacher in New York and Boston. Winning competitions paved her way to the international audience and solidified Ms. Lyu’s reputation as a piano instructor. She has inspired many student competitors to practice harder and reach further inside themselves to achieve more excellent results and successfully ushered many students to win piano competitions. Ms. Lyu is also a researcher in music teaching; She has published nine articles in eight prestigious professional journals regarding teaching methods.
